The 74th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was held on November 23, 2000, in New York City and shown to viewers live on NBC that same day from 9 a.m. to noon EST. The lineup featured 15 giant helium balloons, 16 novelty balloons, 20 floats and falloons, seven toy floats, 14 marching bands, 11 special groups, a host of celebrity performers, and the one-and-only Santa Claus.
