Chu So-Ngo works leisurely behind the desk at the police station. However, things took an unexpected turn when her boss's wife thought So-Ngo was having an affair with her husband and transferred her to the Patrol Unit. Soon she learns her happy marriage is not as perfect, when she finds out her husband has a kept mistress and plans to divorce her. She switch for desk duty to on the beat duties for better pay. As a beat officer, she gets to know Inspector Chan Siu-Sang (Bobby Au-Yeung). The two have a close friendship and soon starts developing feelings for each other. Chan Siu-Sang's niece Chan Sam-Yuen, is a tomboy who has always dreamt of becoming a cop like her uncle. Since she is so active in her job, her superior Ching Fung writes her up for being too ambitious and unruly. While always bickering, Sam-Yuen and Fung soon find out they also have similar interests. When Fung's girlfriend leaves him for her ex-boyfriend, Fung soon starts to fall for Sam-Yuen.

Episode 1

CHUNG SHUN and CHUNG YI are members of the Big Circle Gang. They work with MING to deal with KIN NAM. In chaos, they kill a drunken man. NGOR is WONG’s secretary. She takes care of everyone in the police station. YUEN and FAT see the corpse of the drunken man when they are on patrol. SAN checks the body and identifies the type of the gun used to kill the man. YUEN likes her job but her family worry much about her. YUEN suspects CHUNG SHUN and CHUNG YI. She checks their identity cards. They run away and they have a gun fight in the market. YUEN has to be investigated. She meets CHING FUNG. FUNG lays a trap to arrest CHUNG SHUN and CHUNG YI. However, his plan is spoiled by YUEN who comes to arrest them. They have a gun fight again.

YUEN shoots at CHUNG YI and hurts him. CHUNG SHUN has to leave CHUNG YI and escapes alone. YUEN has to be transferred to clerical work and to be further counseled. She works with NGOR and they become friends. WING CHOI goes to Beijing for business. NGOR cannot do the housework properly. In a bus NGOR and SAN take the others’ bags by mistake. Though they can get their own bag back they have left a bad impression to each other. As there is an electricity failure in her house, NGOR brings KA LOK to WONG’s house to look for temporary accommodation. At last both CHUNG SHUN and CHUNG YI are arrested as CHUNG SHUN goes back to see CHUNG YI. In the police station, WONG falls onto the floor and by mistake hugs NGOR. Mrs. WONG sees the scene.

The scandal spreads and to prove that he is innocent, WONG transfers NGOR to have patrol. NGOR is angry. In the press conference, YUEN is praised and she is transferred to the team fighting filthy business. A journalist comes to interview YI MUI. YI MUI has no choice but claims that she supports YUEN to be a policewoman. SAN claims that he does not want to attend the wedding banquet of his former classmates, in fact he wants to go to it. At last he goes there and meets his former girlfriend JUNE, who is also going to get married. He feels lonely as he still has not found his lover. In the team, YUEN meets FUNG again and she is so nervous that she cannot do her work properly. NGOR and her family go to ocean pan to spend a holiday. There she receives the call from CHOPs mistress.

NGOR jokes that CHOI’s mistress is looking for him. CHOI is shocked. YI MUI arranges SAN to meet Miss LI. SAN parks his car. NGOR thinks that SAN and LI are doing something filthy and she goes to warn him. They have an argument. Without locking his car with the hand brake, SAN ’s ear slides downslope and collides into a lamp post. FUNG and his colleagues go to arrest some prostitutes. SIM and KUI manage to escape. YUEN and a prostitute falls down. CHOI misses NGOR and LOK as he has to go to mainland China again. NGOR is transferred to a new team and her performance is appreciated. CHOI returns and tells NGOR that he will divorce her.

NGOR is depressed. With YUEN’s encouragement, NGOR goes to Shengzhen to question CHOI. She learns that he has a mistress. In an action, YUEN tries to arrest a male criminal but she is stopped by FUNG. She challenges FUNG and states that he is a chauvinist. LOK runs away from home to find CHOI. NGOR feels hurt. FUNG’s parents CHUNG and MUI want their son to visit them more. They rent the flat close to their house to FUNG’s girlfriend CRYSTAL. KUI smuggles some illegal immigrants to work in his brothels. WA and TING argue and TING attempts to avenge the humiliation.

Episode 6

S01 E06 • Monday, Jul 13, 1998 • Jul 13 • 46m

FUNG saves WA from TING’s attack. WA realizes that his job makes him inferior. NGOR and FA follow KUI but in vain. They are driven away by some angry villagers. SAN tricks NGOR but this makes her colleagues to look after her. NGOR does not have time to accompany LOK. SAN meets LOK in a video games centre and they become friends. CHUNG and MUI bring CRYSTAL to see the flat but MUI does not like it. They are disappointed FUNG and YUEN go to arrest KUI but they do not know that KUI is lurking them.

S01 E07 • Tuesday, Jul 14, 1998 • Jul 14 • 46m

KUI attacks FUNG but with YUEN’s warning, FUNG is only hurt slightly. KUI is arrested and he admits that he is the boss. However FUNG does not trust him and thinks that there is a man behind KUI. WA is hurt and he is looked after by SIU TING. They fall in love with each other. LOK uses SAN’s coupons to get a gun. He is scolded as NGOR thinks that he has stolen her money to buy it. LOK goes to tell SAN. SAN scolds NGOR as she does not trust her son. At last NGOR and LOK reunite. WA does not want SIU TING to be a prostitute. He hurts the customer and runs away with SIU TING. KUI trounces PAU hard. WA does not have to money to buy SIU TING’s freedom back. SIM meets PAU again. Meanwhile FUNG has surrounded the site.

Episode 8

S01 E08 • Wednesday, Jul 15, 1998 • Jul 15 • 46m

PAU is shot and at last dies of heart attack. SIM swears to avenge his death. WA and SIU TING disclose their love of each other in the custody. SIM’s henchmen shoots at the window of the police station as a warning. NGOR is hurt. SAN accompanies NGOR home and takes care of her. FUNG begs CRYSTAL to marry him and she promises him. SAN does the housework for NGOR. NGOR does not know and thinks that her mental stress is too heavy. She wants to quit her job. SAN knows that SIM has powerful fire-arm and is smuggling explosives. They go to arrest her but are locked up. NGOR is waiting in the car.

Episode 9

S01 E09 • Thursday, Jul 16, 1998 • Jul 16 • 46m

When it is the last moment before explosion, NGOR uses FUNG’s gun to release them. They continue to chase after SIM. SIM points her gun at FUNG. SAN shots her and she falls down the cliff together with PAU’s bone ash. NGOR does not like LOK being friend with SAN. Her attitude changes when she knows that SAN has done so much for her and LOK. CRYSTAL tells FUNG that she will go to France to further her studies. FUNG has no way to stop her. NGOR applies to be an armed policewoman but her marksmanship is poor. SAN teaches her and polishes her marksmanship.

NGOR passes the test and is allowed to be armed. The team fighting filthy business is disband and members return to their original teams. NGOR finds her new job exhaustive. SAN buys all necessities for NGOR. YUEN pretends to be rude so as to frighten away the man bridged by her mother. NGOR and YUEN attend the training. She is exhausted after it. Luckily SAN takes care of LOK for her. They dine out and in the restaurant, photographer takes a photograph for them. He even suggests them to take part in the family photograph competition. With his friends’ advice, FUNG questions CRYSTAL and finds that she has turned back to her former boyfriend. They break up. Outside the police club, FUNG comes across YUEN who has just argued with SI HAY.

FUNG and YUEN go to pub to chat. FUNG is drunken and YUEN has some special feeling. NGOR and LOK visit SAN as SAN is sic. SAN feels the warmth of family. FUNG thinks that YUEN should take a torch when she is on duty. He buys her one. YUEN is happy. SAN takes care of LOK and NGOR is satisfied. NGOR’s parents return from Canada. They remind NGOR that SAN ’s position is an embarrassing one. Thus NGOR stays away from SAN. NGOR tells SAN that LOK will go to Canada for vacation. SAN wants to disclose his love of NGOR but NGOR does not allow him to do so.

Being refused by NGOR, SAN is depressed. LOK goes to Canada and SAN can only see him off secretly. YUEN is jealous as FUNG attracted many female colleagues. NGOR and YUEN suspect that CIIIU takes refuge in the house of the elderly of the village. They report to the police station. FUNG comes and chases after CHIU. FUNG is pushed down the slope by CHIU and breaks his leg. YUEN and NGOR arrest CHIU. YUEN saves FUNG and FUNG realizes that some special feelings have germinated in his heart. SAN does not give up his hope. With YUEN’s encouragement, he gives her gifts to flatter her. However, NGOR returns all gifts to him.

SAN is sad as NGOR refuses him with determination. On the other hand, YI MUI is not happy with SAN’s courting NGOR. YUEN visits FUNG and they go to play basketball together. Their relationship improves. TING thinks that YUEN admires KWAN and tries to bridge them. KWAN knows that YUEN admires FUNG. YUEN is embarrassed. YUEN and NGOR and transferred to the serious crime section to investigate a case of murder. The victim is cut into three pieces. NGOR is frightened by the victim’s head. SAN gives her medicine. To thank him, NGOR goes to have dinner with him.

NGOR worries about CIIOI who has been sent to hospital. She enjoys the dinner with SAN and they have a pleasant conversation. The police suspect LING, who the victim’s ex-girlfriend, PO, who is the victim’s new boyfriend and CHEUNG, who is the victim’s neighbor. CHOI has no place to stay and NGOR allows him to stay in her house. SAN thinks that they are going to reunite and is depressed.FUNG is shocked the hear that YUEN is going to many KWAN. Later he learns that it is not the case. Moreover KWAN tells him that YUEN admires him.

FUNG and YUEN search CHEUNG’s house and find blood stains. CHEUNG admires that he killed the victim for money. FUNG decides to court YUEN. YUEN does not know what to do but at last she decides to accept him. SAN tries to find new dating partners but he cannot forget NGOR. The team handles a case of armed robbery. They suspect it was conducted by the famous thief LIP SA1 KWUN. NGOR finds that CHOI is not sincere in their relationship, so she decides to leave him.

YI MUI discovers that YUEN and FUNG are dating They trick and laugh at the lovers. SAN finds that he cannot accept his new girlfriend, so they break up. KWUN is released. The case of robbery is solved and the team learn that the robbers learn KWUN’s style. As KWUN was arrested by SAN, NGOR appreciates SAN ’s talents. KWUN is accepted by YI MUI’s family. NGOR is impressed by SAN and accepts his love. The team is instructed to investigate the case of murder. It seems that there is mysterious relationship between the victims MAN MING and YIU CHUNG.

Episode 17

The team is surprised as the two victims have normal backgrounds but they are killed at the same site. KWUN hates SAN as SAN framed him of killing LONG. YI MUI is kidnapped by a butcher and she is saved by KWUN. YI MUI is deeply impressed. SAN is led to a squatter where he kills CHEUNG BILL. He frames SAN as the murderer. SAN is caught red-handed.

Episode 18

SAN has been placed in an unfavorable situation and there is evidence to prove that KWUN was not at the scene. SAN runs away and tries to prove him innocent. KWUN and LONG were good friends but the friendship was tarnished after LONG got along with ROSE. ROSE seduced CHEUNG BILL, YIU CHUNG and MAN MING to steal KWUN and LONG’s money. They even killed LONG. KWUN was regarded as the murderer by SAN. KWUN has killed BILL, CHUNG and MING for LONG. Now he turns to his last target ROSE, who has just returned to Hong Kong to sign a contract.

Episode 19

ROSE is not willing to help the police. When she knows that KWUN has been released, she is frightened. YUEN feels that she is the replacement of YAN and when YAN returns she is jealous. SAN celebrates with NGOR on her birthday, she is deeply touched. ROSE is kidnapped and left in a barrel. When she knows that she was saved by SAN, she decides to accuse KWUN for SAN. In fact she was kidnapped by SAN. When ROSE is signing the contract, KWUN comes but SAN also arrives. They point at each other with guns and the situation is particularly dangerous.

FUNG gets the evidences proving that KWUN is the killer. However, KWUN falls into the sea and cannot be found. KWUN is alive and he kidnaps YUEN and NGOR. They are locked up in a freezer. SAN is fooled by KWUN. SAN is instructed to go to Yuen Long. When KWUN wants to kill SAN, FUNG comes and guns him down. Can SAN and FUNG find and set YUEN and NGOR free? What will happen w the two pairs of lovers? All these questions will be answered in the final episode of this tale.
