Gabriela and Nicolau are having fun on a deserted beach. Júlia gets into a fight to defend Andréa, Chico intervenes, and the two end up in the pool in the middle of a party. Letícia suggests that Andréa set up a stall at a young fashion fair. Nicolau declares his love for Gabriela, who ends up leaving in a car with other guys. Chico proposes to Júlia that they be friends, but she refuses. Andréa invites Atílio to live with her. Diogo tells Hélio that they are going on a trip. Renato demands that Júlia explain herself after seeing a photo of her and Chico in the newspaper. Júlia ends up revealing that Chico insinuated Renato's guilt.

Renato becomes very nervous upon learning of Chico's suspicions. Ariel orders a sensational news report about Andréa. Hélio sighs with passion for Patty. Gabriela is startled to arrive home and find her mother, Luiza, and her son Rafael. Luiza insists that Gabriela acknowledge her son. The girls arrive, and Gabriela pretends not to notice, hiding them in the bedroom. Renato goes to Chico's house.

Rafael calls Gabriela "mommy," leaving the girls speechless. Chico confesses to Renato that he distanced himself from the case because he fell in love with Júlia. Renato punches him for insinuating that he was guilty just to be with his wife. Gabriela lies that Rafael is her brother. Bruno gives Selma a solitaire ring as a gift. Gabriela begs Luiza and Rafael to sleep at the apartment. Renato pressures Júlia to find out why she didn't tell him that Chico is in love with her.

Gabriela wakes up and discovers that Luiza has left. Crying, Gabriela tells the models that Rafael is her son. Tati, Xana, and Camila promise to help Gabi, who, feeling guilty, confesses everything she did against them. Bárbara tells Ariel that Diogo is Nicolau's father. Letícia and Andréa work together at the Mixta fair. Coelho Leite forces Renato to take on a new job. Renato is surprised to learn that his savior was Chico Maia.

Coelho Leite orders Renato to retrieve the document that Chico claims to have. Isaura slaps Selma, who threatens to tell Andréa the whole truth. Xana stays with Rafael so that Gabi can go out. Rafael disappears, Xana picks up Gabriela at the party, and the two find the boy sleeping inside the closet. Júlia wants to know where Renato spent the night. Andréa and Letícia are a hit at the Mixed Fair. Andréa meets Diogo at the Marina; Selma observes everything from afar.

Andréa asks Diogo for financial help, and he says he will do everything he can to help her. Gabriela tells Nicolau to get out of her life. Renato asks Chico to hand over the evidence because his family is being threatened. Nicolau looks for Diogo. Gabriela is invited to audition in Los Angeles. She is upset that she can't go because of her son and confides in Xana that she can't have sex with anyone. Júlia visits Andréa and is surprised to learn that Diogo is back. Andréa confirms, through tests, that she can no longer have children. Isaura goes to Andréa's house and offers her services as a seamstress.

Isaura hides her emotion upon seeing her daughter. Andréa notices that Isaura is making gestures like hers while sewing. Bruno tells Selma to stop trying to control his life. Bruno meets with Ingrid. Nicolau asks Letícia for another chance and kisses her. Gabriela cries because she can't go to Los Angeles because of her son. Selma asks Diogo to take her for a boat ride. Provocatively, she takes off her dress and kisses him.

Diogo throws Selma into the water. She is rescued by helicopter. Diogo appears at the fair and Andréa asks him to leave. Ariel tells Nicolau that Diogo is his father. He rebels against everyone. Júlia sees Renato talking to a tattooed man. Virgínia hides under Ariel's bed, locks the door and grabs him. He swears he will jump out the window if she comes near. Ariel jumps out the window.

Everyone rushes to help Ariel, who is passed out on the lawn. He wakes up macho and rude, and grabs Virginia to take her to the bedroom. Cristiano and Tadeu hit him on the head, and he recovers from his macho outburst. Nicolau suffers alone. Selma wants to make love, but Bruno rejects her. Júlia finds dollars inside a book. Diogo tries to help Andréa, but she dismisses him, and he walks away. Devastated, Diogo decides to leave. Andréa runs along the dock and shouts for Diogo. He jumps off the boat, and she begs him to stay.

Andréa begs Diogo not to leave town, as she needs him. They kiss. Júlia follows Renato and cries when she sees him with Coelho Leite. Virgínia discovers that Rafael is Gabriela's son. Andréa decides to travel to Pernambuco with Diogo. Renato cries and assures Júlia that he did everything to protect his family. Júlia goes to Chico's house, and he confesses that he only helped Renato to avoid seeing her suffer. Júlia tells Chico that he is everything she hopes for in a man.

Julia and Chico kiss. Renato apologizes for his mistakes, and Julia confesses that she slept with Chico. Diogo and Andrea arrive in Porto de Galinhas. Renato gets drunk and goes after Chico. Renato assures Julia that he will try to forgive her; Julia accuses him and swears she doesn't want his forgiveness. Certain that his marriage is over, Renato decides to leave. Nicolau returns home.
